  1. Short description of ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) А-24 ADC A-24 is 24 bit Analog-to-Digital Converter capable of digital and analog control of external equipment.
    Main features of ADC A-24:
    • connection to IBM PC-compatible computer via USB or serial port RS-232;
    • two analog channels for precise measurements of analog signal from – 4.5 V to +4.5 V with acquisition frequency discretely programmed from 10 to 1000 Hz and stepwise amplification factor from 1 to 64; each channel has separate digital trigger input;
    • counter channel with frequency from 0 to 200000 pulses per second;
    • two 16 DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) with output from 0 to 15 V;
    • 8 input/output TTL-lines.
  2. Specifications
    • Interface of computer connection
      USB or RS-232.
    • Size
      No more than 40х90х125mm
    • Weight of ADC (without cables set)
      No more than 0,4 kg.
    • A/D type
      24-bit delta-sigma converter.
    • Number of analog inputs
      Two inputs; one input for each of sockets Mini-DIN4F.
    • Noise-free resolution (monotonicity)
      23 bits.
    • Maximum nonlinearity
      +/-0,002% of full scale.
    • Differential input range
      +/- 4,5 V.
    • Amplification factor of analog channel
      1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64.
    • Input impedance
      No more than 1 МOm.
    • Date rate
      10, 50, 60, 100, 500, 1000 Hz.
    • Effective resolution

      The values of effective resolution are presented if gain equals to 1 by digital averaging of output data taking into the account input-referred noise.
    • Input overvoltage endurance
      25 V – continuously.
      30 V – 1 min.
      40 V – 3 sec.
    • Measurement range of the channel counting separate pulses
      0… 200000 pulses per second.
    • Digital inputs / outputs
      Two contacts of each socket Mini-DIN4F used as a trigger line and eight contacts of the socket DHR-15F are used as digital inputs and outputs. Eight TTL logic lines located in socket DHR-15F can operate as digital outputs as well. One digital input trigger line located in every socket Mini-DIN4F is galvanically isolated and can be activated by dry contact or TTL signal. The line D0 of DHR-15F may be used as an input of the counting channel. For this reason, when the counting channel operates, the number of digital lines diminishes to 7. In addition, if necessary one more line of DHR-15F may be used for receiving a trigger signal.
    • DAC specifications
      Resolution – 16 bits.
      Number of channels – 2.
      Type of output – voltage from 0 V to 15 V.
      Transient period – 5 µs.
      Maximum output current during sorting – no more than 8 mА.
    • ADC current consumption
      No more than 0.4 А.
    • Up to 300 V galvanic isolation is presented:
      In each of sockets of Mini-DIN4F:
      - analog input from computer ground;
      - digital input from computer ground;
      - analog input from digital input.

      Comment: As for USB, as well as for RS-232 connection digital lines and DAC lines in socket DHR-15F are galvanically connected to the ground of computer controlling ADC.
